My Story
My patients know me as the principal dentist and resident teeth straightening expert at Ascent Dental Care—a Midlands-based group of clinics I founded alongside my colleague and friend Faresh Desai in 2007.
But my story begins long before then.
I graduated from Guy’s Hospital in London in YEAR and completed training in restorative dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons.
Ongoing education is my way of ensuring I keep pace with the latest developments in orthodontics so that I can continue offering my patients the highest quality of care, and I’ve been privileged to study with some of the discipline’s true pioneers.
Among these was world-renowned orthodontic specialist Dr Derek Mahoney, with whom I completed a year-long residency programme in self-ligating fixed orthodontic appliances.
Training with Dr Mahoney made such an impact that I later returned to complete his three-year Master’s programme in full-face orthodontics, which has played a vital role in my micro-aesthetics approach to treatment.
Practising at Dr Mahoney’s busy clinic in Sydney, Australia, in 2010 was also formative to my approach to treatment.
I am currently studying to convert Dr Mahoney’s Master’s qualification into an MClinDent in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics with the BPP university in London.
