A Refined Fixed Brace Treatment
Gaps between your teeth or an overcrowded smile can cause you to become self-conscious. It’s really no fun trying to avoid being in photos or feeling ashamed to laugh and smile because you’re unhappy with how your teeth look.
I’ve spent my career helping people who feel just like you, and one of the tried and tested ways of improving their smile and confidence is with fixed braces.
But I don’t use just any fixed brace system. The Damon brace is a revolutionary system that improves upon traditional orthodontic treatments to create a better and more effective teeth-straightening experience for you.
What Are Damon Braces?
Conventionally, braces use a combination of brackets and wire to exert pressure on your teeth so that they gradually become straighter. A small rubber band holds the wire to the brackets on these traditional braces.
Traditional braces require many adjustments, and the small rubber bands can work loose and put extra pressure on the teeth. Not only that, but the bands also make brushing difficult.
The main difference between Damon braces and traditional braces work is that Damon braces feature innovative self-tightening—or self-ligating—brackets, so there’s no need for rubber bands.
The sliding wire and bracket system used in Damon braces create a smoother, more gradual movement for your teeth, making the journey to a straight smile much more comfortable.
The Benefits of Damon Braces
Damon braces have numerous uses and can treat the most complex orthodontic problems, including bite issues like severe overbites, cross-bites, and underbites.
Fixed braces require adjustment, so I’ll need to tweak your brace throughout your treatment. This helps me take your straightening to the next stage. But with traditional fixed braces, these regular adjustments involve long appointments. With Damon braces, adjustments are quick and simple.
The rubber bands on a traditional brace are difficult to clean. If they’re not properly cleaned, they can become havens for bacteria, increasing the risk of tooth decay. Damon braces are sleek. With no bands, they’re easier to clean.
Additionally, the rubber bands on a traditional brace add unnecessary pressure to the tooth. This can cause discomfort. Without the rubber bands, self-ligating Damon braces are often a more comfortable option.
How Damon Braces Work
Damon braces work by applying a gentle force to your teeth. Over time, this force slowly moves your teeth to where we’d like them to be. If you have a gappy smile, your teeth will move closer together. Overcrowded teeth are spaced out. And crooked teeth are straightened.
The self-ligating system is a built-in mechanism that keeps your brace’s archwire in position. Each bracket has a gate-like element that closes the wire in place. Using this system makes adjustments simpler.
I take a meticulous approach to straightening teeth with Damon braces. Using micro aesthetics I create a balanced smile that aligns with and enhances your facial structure. Every adjustment is carefully considered to achieve the best result. And wherever possible, I practice non-extraction dentistry to preserve the best of your natural smile.
